At its 35th meeting, held at the University of Ljubljana from 19 to 21 September 2025 at the invitation of Professor Jerca Kramberger \u0160kerl, the GEDIP completed its work on the law applicable to rights in rem. It also adopted the final version of the guidelines on the influence of EU law on national nationality laws, as well as the guidelines on the treatment of renvoi in European regulations on applicable law. It began examining another general issue in European private international law: the discussion focused on the role of the courts in applying the European conflict-of-laws rule; this project will continue to be discussed at the next meeting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Among current issues, the group considered two judgments of the Court of Justice concerning public policy (the HUK and Real Madrid judgments). It also heard presentations on the Commission\u2019s current projects, as well as the traditional presentation of the case law of the European Court of Human Rights relating to private international law in 2024\u20132025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
